Android boxes are among the best hardware choices for IPTV because they offer full access to the Google Play Store, including Tivimate — the most capable IPTV player available on any platform. Before you start

You will need: your Android TV box connected to your television, a working internet connection (wired Ethernet is recommended — plug the Ethernet cable into the box before starting), and your IPTV credentials from IPTV UK Pro — these are a username, password and server URL, sent via WhatsApp after your order is confirmed.

Step 1: Install Tivimate

Open the Google Play Store on your Android box. Search for "Tivimate." The app appears as "Tivimate IPTV Player" — install it. It is free to download; a premium unlock (approximately £3.99 per year) adds features like recording and multiple profiles, but the free version is fully functional for basic viewing. There is no difference in stream quality between the free and paid versions.

Step 2: Add your playlist

Open Tivimate. On the first launch it shows an "Add Playlist" prompt. Tap it and select "Xtream Codes API" — this is the login type for IPTV UK Pro credentials. Enter the server URL in the "Server URL" field (copy and paste from WhatsApp to avoid typos), then your username and password. Tap "Next." Tivimate connects to the server and downloads the channel and EPG data. With 24,000+ channels this download takes between 60 and 90 seconds on most connections.

Step 3: Configure the EPG

The electronic programme guide loads automatically from the server data. Once the initial sync completes (shown by a progress bar in the settings), navigate to any sports or entertainment channel and press the OK/Select button to see the programme guide overlay. EPG data typically covers 7 to 14 days of schedule information. If the EPG appears empty on the first login, wait 5–10 minutes and restart the app — the initial EPG sync runs in the background.

Step 4: Organise your favourites

With 24,000 channels available, using the favourites system makes daily navigation much simpler. Long-press on any channel and select "Add to favourites." Tivimate groups favourites into a separate tab that loads faster than the full channel list. Adding 20 to 30 commonly watched channels to favourites reduces daily navigation to a matter of seconds.

Troubleshooting common issues

If channels load but buffer: check that your Ethernet cable is properly connected and run a speed test directly on the Android box (install a speed test app from Play Store). If speed is adequate but buffering persists, go to Settings > Player > Buffer time and increase from 1000ms to 3000ms.

If the server URL throws an error: verify the URL is entered exactly as provided — no extra spaces, and check that "http://" or "https://" is included at the start.
